Trends: Bubblicious – Bubble Skirts

March 3, 2010

The bubble skirt phenomenon may have started in the fall but the trend is carrying over into spring as well. Bubble skirts will continue to be seen in the form of single garments as well as on dresses. They are perfect for glamorous looks but can be dressed down as well. The bubble skirt is a form of draping with a gathered hem. The idea of the look is to create a bubble like appearance on the skirt, thus giving it it’s namesake. H&M and Forever 21 make bubble skirts as does luxe designer Phillip Lim. Paired with the right pieces, such as a fitted tank or sleek cardigan, the bubble skirt offers versatility and style.
