Designer Collections: Rachel Roy Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear

October 21, 2009

Rachel Roy is doing big things. She’s launched a new collection exclusive to Macy’s, going into the bridge arena, and of course continuing her stellar presence in women’s high-end ready-to-wear. Joining up with Jones of New York was one of the best moves she ever made and as a fellow Bay Area born fashionista, I am proud. Her fall 2009 collection is a polished assortment with a classic feel.

Fashion & Style News: Rachel Ray ‘Bridges’ a Gap

October 1, 2009

Just as Ellen Tracy is leaving the bridge arena, Rachel Roy is entering it. Roy, who launched her collection, Rachel Rachel Roy exclusively with Macy’s this fall, will present a new collection called Rachel Roy Signature for the bridge department.

The collection will feature mixed fabric dresses, denim dresses and trousers; silk blouses, light-weight jacquard pants, skirts, blazers, high-waisted shorts, and trench coats. Perhaps the most exciting pieces I am looking to are the sequin dresses with printed silk-chiffon lining. Rachel Roy is best known for her elegant dresses, and I’m sure this collection’s version will be no exception.

The Rachel Roy Signature collection will be in specialty and high-end department stores beginning in February. Buyers can expect to see a color palette of coral, bright pink and lime, as well as tan, black and white. This will be an exciting collection you won’t want to miss.

Fashion Week Events: Rachel Roy New York – Spring 2010 Runway Show

September 14, 2009

Feel free to me a stan for Rachel Roy, (hey what can I say, we’re both Bay Area girls), but I am officially in love with her Rachel Roy New York Spring 2010 collection. Because I am indeed a minimalist when it comes to fashion–well sometimes, I was quite impressed with simplistic elegance for her latest designs. The colors are indeed bold, but not an obnoxious sort of way. They seem to flow well with the assortment of beautiful draped dresses, sleek trousers and tailored jackets. Put frankly the line is absolute perfection.
