 Gucci wants to give its customer’s a lesson in history. Well, almost. The brand is hosting a tour series across the U.S. for the launch of their New Pelham Collection.

The Artisan Corner program will feature some of the country’s most skilled Italian leather craftsman to created customized bags for Gucci customers. The workshops will hit Gucci boutiques in San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Chicago and New York,  ending on April 29th.

The Artisan Corner previously hosted events in Tokyo, Osaka, Rome and Paris last month. Stateside, San Francisco will be the first stop. Gucci VIP customers have been invited to participate and have the option of purchasing the customized bags complete with their embossed initials. Bags purchased at the events will have an embossed plaque on the bag’s interior with the location and date of the event. Bags prices range from $465 to $18,000, for an exotic skins.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige spread some love today when cut the and the ribbon to celebrate the opening of the Mary J. Blige Center For Women in Yonkers, New York. Mary partnered with Gucci to support her FFAWN organization with the sale of the limited-edition Twirl watch (see Gucci Cocktail Party for FFAWN.) earlier this fall. The Mary J. Blige Center for Women will be run a partnership between Mary and Steve Stoute.

Fashion & Style News: Gucci Launches iPhone/iPod Touch Application

iPhone and Gucci lovers will love this. The brand has launched its new iPhone/iPod Touch application today.

The free application features a 24-hour music channel, hotel and restaurant tips, playlists, and the Mark Ronson designed turntable mixer. The application also gives users an opportunity to purchase an exclusive edition model from the Ronson sneaker collection when the Gucci Icon-Temporary store opens in their respective city.

The debut of the iPhone/iPod Touch application comes on the heels of the launch of the Gucci Eyeweb site to promote the new sunglasses collection for 18 to 25 year-olds. The global, multilingual social networking site allows users to upload photos and shre via Facebook and Twitter.

Gucci will update the iPhone/iPod Touch application with company news, photos, and ad campaigns.

Fashion & Style News: Gucci Introduces

Gucci eyewear lovers can get their kicks at the brand’s new microsite, The interactive social media site invites viewers to reflect and connect.

The site is part of a new ad campaign to launch a new collection of eyewear for the digital generation of 18 to 25 year-olds. The multilingual social networking site will allow customers to upload and share their own photos over a 3-D image of the sunglasses.

Guccieyeweb users can city hop from New York, London, Milan, Tokyo, Paris, or Berlin. They can also share uploaded photos via Twitter and Facebook.

Come November the site will swap the $220 sunglasses for ski goggles so users can upload winter and holiday snapshots.

Fashion Week Milan: Gucci Spring 2010

Designer Frida Giannini presented an assortment of looks for Gucci’s spring 2010 collection. Crisp white, anything-but-basic black, sky gray, and orange hues were dominant in an assortment of chic modernist look which included parachute jackets, cropped pants, slim-fitting dresses, and skirt-suits. Ultimately a noteworthy classic modern collection that is indeed very much Gucci.

Mary J. Blige has teamed up with Gucci to introduce a limited-edition black Twirl watch with diamonds.

A portion of proceeds from the watch will benefit Mary J. Blige’s foundation FFAW (Foundation for the Advancement of Women).

The Twirl watch goes on sale today.
