Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood Red Label Fall 2010

 Weird. Eccentric. Chic and glamorous could describe Vivienne Westwood’s latest collection. Her Red Label ready-to-wear is jam-packed with prints, intriguing colors, draping, and things that make you go hmmmmm…Not that that’s a bad thing, Miss Westwood has never been one to bore you on the runway. As for the fall 2010 collection, it isn’t necessarily a must-have but it’s not a schmoozer either.

 Tory Burch is has implemented a bit of grunge into her fall 2010 collection. The looks are elegant but workable for everyday wear for even the most sophisticated fashionistas. There is bold color throughout, red, orange, blue, camel, just the right palette for fall. Sweaters, coats, trousers and dresses are made with blended fabrics and detailed. As Burch continues her global expansion off the runway, her brand will continue to evolve and be at the top of fashion lists.

Thakoon goes wild for fall 2010 in his fashion week preview. The dominant features of this collection include lots of fur; fox, mink and raccoon. Glamorous types will love the draped dresses, embroidery and ruffled flowers. Gray, black, ivory and goldenrod adorn the palette as well as a few bulky but fabulous pieces.

Fashion Week Events: Calvin Klein Spring 2010 Runway Show & After Party

Calvin Klein, one of my favorite designers of all time, held his Spring 2010 runway show on Thursday 205 West 39th Street. Later Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa hosted an after party at the Standard Grill to celebrate the end of Fashion Week in style.
