Beauty: Calvin Klein’s New Beauty

 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Calvin Klein, the man behind some of the most popular fragrances in the world is introducing his latest scent, Beauty. The fragrance, which will make its formal debut in October will is deemed to be the scent for the Calvin Klein collection.

Unlike the brand’s hot sellers like Euphoria (my favorite) and Obsession, Beauty will be presented as a timeless classic. It’s advertising is even a little more subtle than the previous Calvin Klein fragrance ads. The spokesmodel Diane Kruger will appear in ads fully-clothed.

Coty Prestige, who holds the license for the fragrance is targeting the scent toward a more upscale audience. The company wanted a luxurious fragrance with global appeal. The success of Euphoria will give Beauty a run for the money. The scent was largely successful nationally and globally.  A striking concoction of ambrette seeds, heart of jasmine and a drydown of cedarwood make up the Beauty scent.

Beauty will be available in three sizes:  1 oz. for $50, 1.7 oz. for $65 and 3.4 oz. for $85. A 200-ml. bath and shower creme will retail for $34, while the same size body lotion will go for $42. The egg shaped bottle is made of glass and encased in a metallic silver shell.  The packaging will have a glossy white finish with a silver halo. The scent will be sold in about 2,500 department and specialty stores nationwide, globally, in about 80 markets.
